Build a Full Course with AI is a Moodle plugin that uses Generative AI to create complete, structured course content from a simple prompt. It automatically generates course sections, lessons, learning outcomes, activities, quizzes, assignments, and other learning resources, helping educators develop high-quality Moodle courses in minutes. (This plugin is available for the Teacher role only.)

Note: Before using this feature, you must first create an empty course. Build a Full Course with AI does not create the course itself, it populates an existing (empty) course with AI-generated content.

Step 1: Create an empty course. Go to the Course page → More →  Build a Full Course with AI

Step 2: You'll be redirected to the Build a Full Course with AI panel, where you'll see field boxes you can fill in to describe the content you want generated.



You will see the following information in the panel:

  1. Field Boxes – input fields where you describe the course content you want AI to generate (e.g., topic, learning outcomes, number of sections).
  2. Build Full Course – an action button that triggers AI to generate and populate the course with content based on your inputs.
Step 3: Click Build Full Course. A popup will appear stating: "Your full course is being built in the background, this usually takes 1–2 minutes." Wait for the process to complete, then check the course to confirm the AI-generated content has been added.
