Zoom is a web and app-based video conferencing service (https://zoom.us). This plugin offers tight integration with Moodle, supporting meeting/webinar creation, synchronization, grading, and backup/restore.


Requirements for ZOOM!

  • Requires a business or educational Zoom account to configure and set up.


Installing the ZOOM meeting plugin


Step 1: Download the Zip file Zoom meeting plugin. Here is the link: https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_zoom


Step 2: Log in to your Moodle site as an admin and go to Administration > Site administration > Plugins > Install plugins.


Step 3: Upload the ZIP file. You should only be prompted to add extra details (in the Show More section) if your plugin is not automatically detected.


Step 4: If your target directory is not writeable, you will see a warning message.


Step 5: Check the plugin validation report



Adding Zoom to your Moodle Course

  • Go to your course page > Turn editing on > Add an activity or resource > Select the Zoom from the activity chooser.



To configure the zoom


  • Go to Site Administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Zoom meeting and provide the following; Please see the image below.

  • Zoom API key and Zoom API secret will be found on your Zoom account.

  • Zoom home page URL: https://zoom.us/
